Reintroduced to mainstream consciousness in mid-2020, the Nike Challenger has recently indulged in a handful of vibrant, non-original colorways. For its latest proposition, the ’70s silhouette appears in an “Off-Noir/Dark Smoke Grey/White/Light Silver” colorway fitting of a “Shadow” nickname.

Mesh visible at the forefoot indulges in an eye-catching “Light Silver” tone that also takes over the profile swooshes, upper heel overlay and inner lining. “Off-Noir” overtakes most of the remaining upper, with slightly-yellowed tongues and their accompanying laces deviating from the tonal color scheme. Underfoot, the vintage runner opts into a tried-and-proven sole unit that’s appeared on other retros from the brand’s iconic Sportswear catalog.

A stateside Nike.com release date may be in the works, but this stealthy Challenger is currently available at select retailers across Europe.

Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Air Jordan 1 “University Blue” arrives on March 6th.
