The official release for READYMADE’s sustainability-focused effort on the Nike Blazer may have come and gone (with much fanfare), but the Japanese label is offering up a swan song in the form of a friends-and-family edition in highly limited quantity. Releasing exclusively as part of Yuta Hosokawa’s exhibit at the Kaikai Kiki gallery (which will be held later in May), this grey variation of the Blazer sees a royal blue warped Swoosh along with colored laces and chords that speak to the makeshift aesthetic of the build. The same recycled materials are seen on the foam uppers and the rocky midsole, coinciding with their newly-incepted Swoosh recycle logo.
READYMADE’s concept aligns with Nike’s company-wide efforts toward sustainability and other green efforts and initiatives that support clean air, water, and energy. A similar approach can be seen in the newly revealed Nike Basketball “Play For The Future” collection for All-Star.
According to Zingaro, this small batch offering in limited sizing is accessible exclusively through an online raffle here.
