Sneaker News New Balance’s basketball division relaunched with a bang roughly two years ago, partnering up with Kawhi Leonard as its marquee signature athlete to re-establish its own unique direction in the performance hoops category. Along with rolling out one of the more effective and authentic marketing plans the industry has seen in some time, New Balance unleashed the OMN1S onto the market – a silhouette that would rival the best in the category. With Kawhi graduating to his own signature shoe line, the NB brand has focused its efforts on its in-line product for its growing roster of athletes and the expanding market of NB Hoops enthusiasts, and on March 15th, the competition will be stiffened with the release of the TWO WXY.
The TWO WXY lives to serve the multi-purpose position-less player – one that excels on both the offensive and defensive end. It features the brand’s Kinetic Stitch tech on the upper, which offers the right amount of stretch and support where needed. FuelCell technology features the highest rebound properties of any New Balance performance foam on the market, making it the perfect choice for the TWO WXY since it a balance of ultra-light weight and responsiveness.
Two colorways are confirmed to launch on NewBalance.com and select retailers for $140. The “Fiesta” is inspired by Dejounte Murray and the San Antonio Spurs, while the royal blue version, worn by Darius Bazley, matches the unis of the OKC Thunder. A special colorway could be expected for its newest athlete – rising superstar Jamal Murray of the Denver Nuggets who cemented his status during his break-out run during the 2020 NBA Playoffs.
