First teased in August 2020, the Nike Air Max 96 II will finally experience its first retro throughout 2021. To start, “Comet Red” and “Goldenrod” colorways for women and men, respectively, will arrive at limited stockists overseas beginning on April 8th.
Despite featuring a noticeably slimmer Air Max unit at the heel, the forthcoming reissues deliver the mid-1990s flair that’s been missing from the Swoosh’s lineup for three decades. A breathable mesh base is overlaid with synthetic leather overlays, which have recently been borrowed by the VaporMax line. “Grape Ice” and “Midnight Navy” accompany the aforementioned tones, animating the same components they did more than 20 years ago. Branding on the tongue and heel further partake in the nostalgia as they indulge in their pairs’ respective color schemes.
A stateside Nike SNKRS launch is surely in the works, but original colorways of the Air Max 96 II will begin arriving to select retailers in Asia on April 8th. While you wait, enjoy images of the shoes ahead.
