Despite countless shoe enthusiasts asking themselves “Why are Jordan 1s so expensive?,” there’s no denying the 36-year-old design’s massive popularity. Although NIKE, Inc. is bound to reissue to model’s original colorways as Peter Moore’s design inches closer to its 40th anniversary, the North American sportswear conglomerate is dipping the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG in a “Light Smoke Grey/Black” palette first.
Although reminiscent of the silhouette’s original “Shadow” colorway, the forthcoming style is by all-means a 21st-century take on Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker. A smooth leather base sets the stage for a bevy of nubuck overlays clad in the titular smokey, light grey hue. “NIKE AIR” branding on the tongue follow suit, while sole units proffer a “White” and “Black” makeup that has also worked on the near-identical Nike Dunk.
Enjoy another look at this understated Jordan 1 ahead, and anticipate pairs to hit Nike SNKRS in mid-May.
