With the announcement of the Nike Air Max 96 II officially returning on April 8th, Nike’s pointed revival of Air Max classics have a lot of 80s babies truly excited. For those who have been paying attention to the Air Max Plus 2 Retro, they’re emerging in a new colorway after months of inactivity, donning a grey and orange makeup.

As usual, the pair tints its mesh uppers with a satisfying gradient—specifically “Light Smoke Grey” to “Dark Smoke Grey.” The wavy TPU accents that run along the sides also exhibit a gradient effect, but in “Turf Orange” to black instead. A small TPU Swoosh appears under these overlays in the same orange and animated by a black outline. To balance out the greyscale tones, Dark Smoke Grey is used on elements found on the toe and heel, such as suede accents and the heel counter. The ’90s-inspired model is complete with a white Tuned Air midsole, with the signature Nike Tn Air badges applied to the tongue, heel, and outsole.

Take a peek at the Air Max Plus 2 as you wait for the pair to arrive at Nike.com for $190.

In other Swoosh-related news, a new Nike Air Zoom Type is receiving blueprint-like graphics.
