Jovani Hernandez Fresh off his 48th birthday, Pharrell Williams has revealed his next project with adidas: the reintroduction of the Premium Basics collection, which is accompanied by two pairs of the Superstar Primeknit.
Unlike previous footwear collaborations within Williams’ catalog, the forthcoming duo forgoes any vibrant orange, yellow and other hues in favor of a rather tonal white or black makeup. Perfect for the warmer times of the year, the silhouette maintains the semblance of a shell-toe, but builds out the 51-year-old design out of breathable, lightweight Primeknit material. Branding on the tongue, medial collar and ankle all indulge in vibrant green contrast, which unquestionably nods to both the Virginia native’s Humanrace endeavors and the Stan Smith he’s reworked a handful of time since joining the Three Stripes in 2014. On the clothing side, the reimagined basics (i.e. t-shirt, crewneck sweater, sweatpants) boast cuts and colors previously seen from Williams’ apparel efforts. Together, the Premium Basics items and reworked Superstar create a number of comfortable, stylish looks for everyday wear.
