adidas‘ ode to the ZX line that debuted in 1984 has spawned a handful of impressive collaborations over the last year. Next up, the 26-pair A-ZX series has tapped Highsnobiety for an understated ZX 8000 more on “qualität” (“quality” in German) than anything else.
Unveiled under “Qu” in the collection’s period table-like roster, the forthcoming pair indulges in a “Chalk White/Crystal White/Chalk White” colorway. Despite its muted aesthetic, each shade of white is applied onto premium materials across the upper, fro, breathable mesh to leather profile 3-Stripes. A side view of the sneaker reveals no hint at a high-profile collaboration, but closer inspection at the forefoot and heel (as well as the soft dust bag included in the packaging) give away this option’s backstory. Standard neon green, “TORSION”-branded lace dubraes are replaced with leather counterparts debossed with “HS” initials; heels are also stamped with the online publication’s shorthand. Elsewhere, inner lining is completely done out of high-quality leather, and are accompanied by recyclable cork insoles. Lastly, light gum brown takes over the adidas Originals‘ iconic tread, with Torsion bars at the enter of the outsole blending into its off-white surroundings.
An official release date is still unknown, but Highsnobiety’s ZX 8000 is likely to launch soon. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the shoes here below.
