As adidas continues to inch closer to its goal of minimizing ocean plastic pollution and using 100% recycled polyester in its products by 2024, it’s rallying all parts of its business behind the cause. The latest to join the fight is adidas Skateboarding, which has recently reimagined Lucas Puig‘s adidas Puig with Primeknit uppers partially constructed from Parley ocean plastic.
Akin to previously-seen summer-ready adidas Originals options from Pharrell Williams, the newly-launched pair indulges in a knit upper clad in simple “Cloud White”. The breathable, eco-friendly construction up-top is rooted in Puig’s love for the ocean, in particular the coast of Biarritz, France, his hometown. While built with performance-ready tooling, the “Hazy Emerald” and “Hazy Green”-accented pair delivers an off-board aesthetic and PRIMEBLUE build, as well as a peek at what Puig and adidas Skateboarding are working on in their mutual contribution to “End Plastic Waste,” adidas’ sustainability campaign.
