Jovani Hernandez While it’s no secret that adidas prepped a handful of collaborations ahead of 2021 to celebrate its Forum Low silhouette, the brand has just teased one of the most surprising partners yet: M&M’s.
In similar fashion to the UltraBOOST and ZX pairs reimagined by LEGO, the newly-surfaced collection by Mars, Inc. boasts a vibrant array of colors. Instead of drawing inspiration from toy blocks, however, the six-shoe adidas Originals capsule brings yellow, red, blue, green, orange and brown chocolate candy to sneaker form. Each option in the collaborative project is fairly split between white and a complementary color: profile 3-Stripes, lockdown straps near the collar, much of the heel and part of the midsole are animated with the aforementioned hues. Branded labels on the top of the tongue feature a non-standard tab stylized after an m&m’s box’s hang-tab; the sweet’s namesake is printed onto the shoes’ lateral heels, as well as on their packaging. Lastly, the low-top adidas Forum rounds out the thematic ensemble with outsoles covered in a deep brown, unquestionably nodding to the chocolate insides of the beloved candy.
