Jovani Hernandez First revealed in early 2020, UNDERCOVER‘s next Nike GYAKUSOU collection has only been officially announced this week. In addition to two previously seen colorways, the Japanese institution has shared a royal blue VaporFly NEXT% that it’ll be launching exclusively through its “brick-and-mortar” locations.
Although the forthcoming pair features the ZoomX technology that runners all over the globe have fallen in love with, it consists of various fashionable touches from the legendary Jun Takahashi. “GYAKUSOU” branding appears a handful of times across the synthetic and mesh upper (in various sizes), while also marking the sock-liner. Most of the running shoe is clad in “Black” and white, but hits of rich blue animate the tongue, lateral profile swoosh (a non-standard detail) and tip of the toe; tread at high-wear zones throughout the outsole also boast the royal tone, and thus, rounding out the rather understated arrangement.
