Even before joining the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant was no stranger to the battlegrounds of New York City’s basketball scene. Nearly a decade ago, KD dropped a nasty 66 points at the Rucker, a moment that would later be immortalized on the widely popular Nike KD 6. Fast forward to the present day, Durant is now repping one of the five boroughs on his chest, making his KD 14 the perfect inclusion in this year’s NY vs. NY series.

The Nike KD 14 “Sunset” represents all-day grind that the city’s hoopers put in to hone their game. And even though these city parks officially close at dusk, there’s still some runs going on well into the darkness. This KD 14, much like the Kyrie Low 4 “Sunrise”, features the fading colors of the sun against a grey asphalt base to represent the concrete floors and the metal gates that decorate these special hooping locales.
