New Balance has undeniably exploded in popularity over the last three years. And while the unshakeable “dad shoe” trend is partly responsible, the brand’s commitment to quality and good design has been crucial. Case in point: the New Balance 57/40.
Unlike previously-seen iterations of the modernized model, an upcoming “Incubation” Pack entry indulges in a few colors, forgoing any uniform aesthetic. Heritage-appropriate grey takes over much of the sneaker’s premium pig suede upper, while dark lilac and varying shades of blue animate everything from the profile “N” logo’s lining to the quarter panels. The capsule’s inspiration hasn’t been disclosed, but the style will surely find a home among sneaker rotations with a penchant for subtle “flexing.” Underfoot, the chunky sole unit keeps things black and white, allowing for the hues throughout the top-half to revel in the spotlight.

Elsewhere under the NB umbrella, the New Balance 650R is set to return throughout 2022.
