Jovani Hernandez First rumored in July 2020, the sacai x fragment design x Nike LDWaffle has recently emerged via in-hand images through unofficial, but reliable parties. And while the three-way collaboration hasn’t been announced with release details by the brands involved, a navy style of the shoe has just surfaced via official photos.
As with Chitose Abe’s own work with the Swoosh, the latest vintage Nike Running shoe-inspired design boasts a near-identical makeup to the string of pairs that dropped throughout 2019. A mix of mesh, suede and leather carry out Abe’s vision on the sneaker, while Hiroshi Fujiwara’s contribution to the joint-effort effectively arrives in the form of development-style text on the lateral and medial midsole. Furthermore, fragment design’s iconic double lightning bolt logo appears on one of the two layered exposed foam tongues. Underfoot, outsoles indulge in the waffle-pattern that put Nike on the map throughout the 1970s.
