Following the success of his Valentine’s Day-ready New Balance 992 for NB’s “No Emotions Are Emotions” project, Joe Freshgoods continues to lend his creative vision to The Intelligent Choice for another collaborative style—the New Balance 990v3 “Outside Clothes.” Teased months prior, the pair will very soon be seeing an official launch.

Decorated in earthy hues and cool-toned touches, this New Balance 990v3 is inspired by the outdoor activities that constituted summertime fun during the Chicago-based designer’s childhood in the ’90s. The “Outdoor Clothes” proposition uses blue mesh and brown suedes the create the upper, which represents earth and the sky. Softer browns are applied to the suede accents on the heel and toe to continue the outdoor-reminiscent look. Collaborative branding on the heel and a midsole piece further the theme with the introduction of green to mimic grass. An ABZORB sole unit completes the design, delivering supreme comfort to the Chicago-inspired design.
