Off the heels of the celebrated release of their collaborative contribution to the sacai x Nike LDWaffle, CLOT is ready to unleash the second leg of this project on October 7th, 2021. The release date confirmed by Edison Chen himself on Instagram, the CLOT sacai Nike LDWaffle takes clear inspiration from the label’s 2013 collaboration with Nike and the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse. Dubbed the “Kiss Of Death 2“, that modified Air Max 1 continued the story that began in 2006 by creating a design that honors ancient Chinese traditions of healing.
Much like the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse, CLOT streamlines the look of the LDWaffle by removing any layers and heat-pressing it down in the same manner. Outside of the heel tab and counter, the entire construction of this Nike LDWaffle remembers the original principles of Hyperfuse that originally launched in 2010 with the Nike Hyperfuse basketball shoe. The same color palette from the Kiss Of Death 2 returns, down to the speckling on the midsole.
Again, Edison Chen confirms a release for October 7th, although that date may apply specifically to CLOT and Juice locations. And not to forget the UNDERCOVER sacai LDWaffle is still on the ledger for a drop before the end of 2021.
Updated October 3rd, 2021: A US SNKRS release date is confirmed for October 9th, 2021.
