The Nike Air Force 1 Pixel, a digital world-inspired iteration of Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design, hasn’t overtaken its predecessor’s position in the mainstream sneaker consciousness, but it’s garnered a cult-following in the short time it’s been on the market.
With a penchant for simple arrangements, the Nike Air Force 1-variant has also joined the brand’s gamer-targeted collection. Yet, the latest proposition arrives with a rather tonal dark green suede arrangement. Much of the upper maintains its signature layout, although profile swooshes opt for a cut-out makeup. The biggest distinction between the Pixel version and standard ones, however, arrives through the sole unit. Block-like, haphazardly-laid out detailing across the midsole and outsole nod to the pixelated nature of digital worlds. The sole unit’s chunkiness also promote a fashion-forward aesthetic, which propels Kilgore’s design into the next 40 years.
