Stray Rats Teases Two Collaborative New Balance 991 Colorways

Though still an underdog in many respects, Stray Rats is responsible for some of New Balance’s most exciting collaborations. And it seems more are on the way very soon as the East Coast based streetwear label has recently teased their two 991s.

Vividly colorful and yet perfectly balanced like many of Stray Rats’ past works, the 991s string together neons with more subdued earth tones. The first example is dressed quite expressively in pink, the accents adjacent — such as the “N” logo and lining — matching this energy with a highlighter green. Brown, then, rounds out the palette by way of the suede overlays, laces, and the like. Next, we see something far darker, a colorway comprised of navy and what looks to be black. But still, hits of hot pink are used throughout, ensuring a tonal connection with its much bolder counterpart.
