This Fully Recyclable TERREX Free Hiker Joins adidas’ “Made To Be Remade” Mission

adidas achieved a true dream scenario with the Made To Be Remade campaign, introducing a closed loop life cycle of a sneaker that goes from new, to worn…to new again. This was all attained with the creation of a recycled plastic base material that can be manipulated to create the entire upper, the Torsion bar, and even the adhesive that binds everything together. With no glues or dyes, the Made To Be Remade product can be grind down to its original fundamental form and recycled into a brand new shoe. The unique QR Code on the tongue allows you to track the progress of your sneaker as it goes through the process.

Now, Made To Be Remade has expanded into the world of outdoor exploration as the brand announces its TERREX Hiking collection that also includes apparel made with Primaloft Insulation and Parley Ocean Plastics. Included in the seasonal collection is the TERREX Free Hiker, which features a Primeknit upper and BOOST cushioning, all of which is entirely recyclable. After wear, you can return the shoes to adidas; the used shoes will undergo a process that involves cleaning and grinding down so it can be remade into something new.

The adidas Terrex Free Hiker “Made To Be Remade” will officially release on adidas.com on October 15th for $250.
