Over the last 30 years, the Saucony Shadow 6000 has delivered a comfortable footwear solution to runners and pedestrians alike. In that same timespan, the model has offered some of the most thought-out and playful collaborations within sneakers, with food being at the center of a few of them. As its 30th anniversary winds down, the silhouette has taken a trip down memory lane, combining these aforementioned styles into one under the “Food Fight” colorway.
A mix of “Avocado Toast,” “Courageous Breakfast” and other grub-related releases of yesteryear, the newly-surfaced pair is unapologetically bold. Left and right shoes share vibrant orange and green tones, but the arrangements that ultimately animate their suede, mesh and leather construction indulge in a mismatched application. Top-down views of Saucony‘s latest proposition reveal a predominantly-green forefoot on the right shoe, while its counterpart opts for a subtle off-white that allows the cotton candy and company-inspired palette that appears on the tongue, profiles and heel to revel in the spotlight. The Shadow 6000‘s DNA is visible through the wild colorway, but the Massachusetts-based brand has decided to reimagine the sneaker’s packaging and PWRRUN midsole cushioning to commemorate the special project.
