From odes to the very cushioning it helped popularize to ensembles inspired by lucha libre, the Nike Air Max 90 has dressed up in countless outfits throughout its 31 years since debuting. For its latest proposition, the sneaker has indulged in a multi-color arrangement featuring handfuls of spring-related details.
A greyscale arrangement takes over most of the pair’s multi-materials upper, although profile swooshes and TPU components along the tongue deviate in much more vibrant tones. Cutouts at the mudguard exchange standard “AIRMAX” branding with an “airsprung” message that alludes to the sneaker’s theme. Left shoes boast a butterfly graphic on the sock-liner, while a caterpillar-reminiscent figure takes over the heel’s swoosh logo. Underfoot, sole units forgo any tumbled leather and canvas material, but opt into some of the spring-appropriate yellows, greens and reds that animate the upper.
A Nike.com release is likely months away, but you can enjoy official images of this kid’s pair ahead right now.
