Michael Le The Air Max Running Club, though fictional, provides Nike an outlet for their vintage-inspired creations. And this upcoming Air Max 97 — which takes things a step up from the pairs before it — pays homage to the past through both color and texture.
Signature to the collection, both an “AMRC” hangtag and a silver accessory accompany the shoe, respectively accenting the side and lace unit. And in direct nod to older pairs, the latter fixture is given a “Sail” coat, which complements the distressed finish of the navy suedes below. But the blacks of the mudguard, Royal tone of the mesh underneath, and the white midsole are far more pristine by comparison, blending in an obviously new touch.
