Virgil Abloh Passes Away At Age 41

Artistic Director to Louis Vuitton and beloved designer of Off-White, Virgil Abloh is undoubtedly among our generation’s most talented. And alongside Nike, the icon effectively created no shortage of standout releases, changing the collaborative game for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, news of Abloh’s death broke out earlier this morning, November 28th, detailing his long battle with cancer.

“We are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom,” LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault stated. “The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow, and we are all thinking of his loved ones after the passing of their husband, their father, their brother or their friend.”

According to a recent post on Virgil Abloh’s own IG page, the designer struggled with a rare, aggressive form of cancer known as cardiac angiosarcoma. For over two years, the Off-White founder was battling the disease privately, undergoing challenging treatments while simultaneously helming his existing ventures across fashion, art, and culture.

The world will be nowhere close to the same. Rest in peace — in power — Virgil Abloh.
