Michael Le Just about two weeks back during Thanksgiving, Matthew M. Williams and Nike brought back every one of their collaborative Air Force 1 Highs, effectively honoring what has been a fruitful relationship. And rather than continue to look to the past, the two are moving on, offering up a new colorway of the brutalist Zoom MMW 004.
If you’re familiar with the iterations prior, then not much should come as a surprise here. It provides an almost necessary baseline, as the dark brown colorway shrouds much of the model’s finer details. The textured, mesh exterior and the harder, polished molds blend into one another despite their difference in texture and sheen; the sole, too, shares a similar feel, albeit in a black rubber. There is a small instance of brighter color at the topmost eye stay, though it’s caramel-like finish is very quickly drowned out by the palette adjacent.
