East Asian influences run through the veins of the entire Nike umbrella, with releases often referencing both craft and traditions. Here, with the brand’s latest Zoom GT Jump, these come to a head yet again, ostensibly in complement to the rest of the Chinese New Year fare.
But at a glance, the pair’s inspirations are not outwardly apparent. The colorway, though, does proffer an auspicious feel as the brunt of the upper is dressed with a reddish orange shade. Over top the side, the latter accents with a grid reminiscent of knit, its off-white shade only aiding the hand-crafted illusion. And thanks to the sole and adjacent markings, futuristic elements begin to take over, highlighted in hits of blue and black. Additionally, Chinese markings neighbor as well, pressed along the midsole and pull tab.
