Jovani Hernandez As sneaker heads old and new begin to brace themselves for what’ll surely be an amazing 2022, the Swoosh has begun offering official looks at some of the in-line styles that’ve been prepped for the Nike Air Force 1‘s 40th anniversary.
While not the exact arrangement found on a few recently-seen Nike Dunks, the newly-surfaced pair also indulges in a purposely-“aged” aesthetic. Synthetic leather construction across the upper and EVA foam at the midsoles maintain a pristine all-“White” makeup, but their supporting accents boast a chipped, almost eroded look that nods to sneakers that’ve been sitting in storage for decades. Profile swooshes and tread – which both opt for spring-ready pink flair – are given a “vintage” treatment, while branding on the tongue label and top heel overlay also harken to the past via their groovy font.
