Nike, even in just their name alone, has loose ties to Greek mythology. In the past, the goddess they took inspiration from has seen her very own shoe, which has likely inspired this upcoming Air Force 1 in one way or another.
Roman mythos, though, takes the helm here; and while influenced by the Greeks in many ways, its replete with its own rich culture. A far cry from a history lesson, this Air Force 1 purely mimics the empire’s color and regal sense. The deep reds that mark their flag are used for the patent leathers overlay, which shine in place of a gold exterior. A gilded shade does at least mark the tongue, taking the shape of a what looks like an ancient goddess.
