Nike’s “Hemp” Collection Expands With A Kid’s Air Force 1 Low

Nike’s “Hemp” Collection Expands With A Kid’s Air Force 1 Low

Upon debuting in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 garnered attention from diehard basketball players, but demand paled in comparison to the handful of Nike Running propositions that came before it. Over the last 40 years, Bruce Kilgore’s design has become one of the most consistently top-selling sneakers in North America, a feat it’s accomplished in part by never resting on its laurels.

In celebration of the model’s 40th anniversary, the Swoosh has prepped a sizable amount of in-line and collaborative projects, with the former including a sustainability-focused “Hemp” collection. Also consisting of a Nike Blazer Mid, the upcoming capsule reimagines Kilgore’s iconic creation through the lens of a cannabis plant-derived fabric and colorful, spring-ready palette. Woven hemp, then, steals the spotlight, allowing for the kid’s Air Force 1 Low to present vibrant shades of red-orange, green and blue. Thematic branding land on the tongue label, while the North American company’s “Move to Zero” signage is stamped onto the sock-liners. Lastly, sole units also join in on the eco-consciousness as their speckled appearance denotes a use of recycled materials.

Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and anticipate a Nike.com release date in the coming months.
