Raekwon, Foot Locker And Diadora Kick Off “Community Linx” Initiative With Two N9002 Colorways

Raekwon, Foot Locker And Diadora Kick Off “Community Linx” Initiative With Two N9002 Colorways

On August 1st, 1995, Raekwon dropped his debut studio album as a solo artist, “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.” Although the then-25-year-old had garnered attention through his contribution to the Wu-Tang Clan, his solo efforts catapulted him to the tops of countless hip-hop enthusiasts’ “Best Emcee” lists. Today, 27 years later, the Staten Island-native is utilizing his platform to foster the musical talent of 16 up-and-coming artists from New York City as part of the “Community Linx” initiative he’s founded alongside Foot Locker, Inc. and Diadora.

To kick off a series of product capsules focused on local community outreach, the three parties have come together to release two exclusive colorways of the Diadora N9002. Both pairs will be available in Men’s sizing, and feature predominantly two-tone arrangements. Nylon-suede construction takes over the upper, while a tried-and-proven rubber outsole delivers reliable durability and traction to each offering; inaugural styles boast either a universal black and grey color palette or NYC-inspired blue and orange makeup. Future releases will see some of Diadora’s most beloved silhouettes in ensembles representing Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston.

As the “Community Linx” initiative aims to provide rising local music talent with the resources and tools needed to elevate its game, Raekwon and team will set up an invite-only, four week beat0making course for select artists. Each participant will receive personalized insight from Scram Jones, a D.J. and producer who’s worked with not only “The Chef” but also Styles P and Dipset.

Continue ahead for a look at the first two drops from Raekwon’s latest endeavor, and find pairs available exclusively at FootLocker.com and ChampsSports.com on January 27th for $120 USD each.
