I’ve said it plenty of times, but no amount of words will ever fully articulate how military has bled into the world of both fashion and sneakers. Gear, such as BDU jackets, pants, and the like, have become fashion staples, recreated over and over again by designers who never have and never will serve. Nike, too, uses these issued essentials for reference, this upcoming Air Max 95 being but another product of that inspiration.
The shoe’s overall palette can be somewhat described as an “Olive Sateen,” though close but slightly different shades are used as well. For instance, a more desaturated olive marks the upper’s top half, dressing the mesh, canvas, laces, and parts adjacent. The colors only become darker the lower the panel, stopping just before the sole, whose finish is more akin to that which is worn during desert combat. And in further subversion, a hot pink highlights the Nike branding atop the heel, tongue, and insole.
Enjoy a close-up, detailed look at this Air Max 95 below. If you’d like to secure a pair for your rotation, sizes should be hitting select retailers and Nike.com soon.
