If you were one of the several that missed out on the Dunk Low “Panda” on the February 2nd, 2022 restock, it looks like Nike is bringing back that colorway with some unique twists that may deter those still in the hunt. While the materials are the classic leathers we’ve come to love, Nike has chosen to add two pull-tabs at the heel in black and gold and alternating bronze and gold Swooshes, creating an unexpected twist on the retro basketball shoe. Furthermore, the branding package has completely changed as the heel, tongue, and insole feature the vintage cursive-style logo with a star dotting the letter i.
Now, it’s entirely up to you if you want to chop off the superfluous detail at the heel, because they do look rather unusual as is. We’re not encouraging one way or another, but we suspect many of you are wondering what the deal is with these added exterior details that don’t have much real use.
It will be interesting to see if these are part of an upcoming seasonal collection, and given how Nike has clustered their footwear under specific concepts, we wouldn’t be surprised if more Nike Dunks or other NSW classics like Air Force 1 and Blazer appeared with the same loops and logo hits. Stay tuned for more details.
