Sneaker News Ken Griffey Jr.’s Nike Air Griffey Max 1 made quite a come-back for its 25th Anniversary treatment in 2021, returning in two original “Freshwater” concoctions as well as some special editions honoring the late great Jackie Robinson. With the Nike Griffeys back in the fold, the Swoosh is ready to round the bases once more with more releases in 2022, with this upcoming “Wheat” confirmed to drop in adult sizes.
We showed you the GS sizing late last year, noting that this Wheat colorway did in fact drop back in 2016. However, there are indeed the slightest of changes in the 2022 version, as this modern issue features white lettering and lockdown harnesses on the ankle straps, white embroidery on the Swoosh border, and even lighter shade of the “wheat” on the logos and lace eyelets. This colorway blends perfectly with the fresh dirt seen in the batters box for April, but the given “Wheat” colorway suggests a Fall 2022 release.
