It’s no secret that Nike is obsessed with golf. Even Jordan Brand has fell victim to the sport, customizing silhouettes like the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 4 so they’d be fit for the green. And very soon, the Air Jordan 12 Low will join the line-up, it’s golf-ready kit ushered in by way of the beloved “Taxi” colorway.
Gifted to professional golfer Pat Perez at the tail end of last year, the pair is far more faithful to its source material than the “Royalty” that released back in November. The quilted profile and reptile-like texture of the mudguard display their usual white and black neutrals, matching the two-tone of the lace unit and its embroidered logo. The spikes underfoot protrude outwards in a dark finish as well so as not to steal attention away from the outsole’s pop of yellow and red. Both of these shades reappear along the back heel, helping highlight the “23” and Jumpman branding. Finally, gilded hardware crowns the shoe, effectively completing the homage to the aforementioned icon.
