Michael Le No two labels under the expansive COMME des GARÇONS umbrella are exactly alike. Their partnerships, too, are unique, with HOMME PLUS often teaming up with Nike in a way distinct from even CdG Black. And for the avant-garde menswear line’s latest collaborative offering, their highlighting the Air Sunder Max, a relatively forgotten classic that first released in 1999.
The shrouded silhouette first walked the runway back in July of last year, appearing in three neutral colorways as is typical of the diffusion. Relative to the original, CdG’s version is far more simple, opting for a less complicated set of overlays along the toe and profile. Elsewhere, the rest of the construction leans much closer to its inspiration, delivering a near identical sole unit, synthetic upper, and zipper.
