Justin Saunders and team were especially busy at the beginning of 2022, as the Montreal-based studio prepared not only a collaboration with A BATHING APE but also yet another installment in their on-going partnership with New Balance. The latter release was particularly special, as it brought the 990v3 — the silhouette the two brands worked on for their first joint effort — back into play. And less than two months thereafter, a sequel has already been confirmed, this time clad in a palette that’s unmistakably JJJJound.
Revealed on IG earlier today, the pair is a stark tonal shift from its green-colored predecessor. Here, the suedes are dressed a deep shade of brown, resembling one of the colorways from JJJJound’s trio of SK8-Mids. Black, though, is used in place of white, filling in the midsole, laces, and the leather trims throughout the toe and ankle. The “N” logos deliver a similarly neutral scheme, though with a touch of grey like the ENCAP markings elsewhere. As for additional branding, “JJJJound” is likely printed across both the sockliner and heel tab.
Enjoy a quick look at JJJJound’s newest set of NBs right here. These are currently expected to release during the Spring/Summer ’22 season, with a firm release date soon to surface.
In other news, New Balance just celebrated the opening of The Track.
