Nike Takes Us Back To ’82 For The Air Force 1’s 40th Anniversary

Nike Takes Us Back To ’82 For The Air Force 1’s 40th Anniversary

Nike has already made a couple big moves for the Air Force 1‘s 40th Anniversary, such as teaming up with beloved streetwear label Stussy and expanding the shoe’s output tenfold. But in the past few months, the brand has only called out the occasion a handful of times; even this upcoming colorway, despite being marked with “82,” commemorates subtly.

Here, Nike brings more attention to the Air Force 1’s branding, modifying the logos along the tongue and heel tab. The latter types out “NIKE” in a groovy, retro-styled font, with which the former displays “82” alongside a floral accent. Elsewhere, the construction and colorway are far more straightforward, opting for a full yellow base with white overlays. And while the Swooshes, too, are neutral, they swoop along the side with both black and white layers.
