First Look At The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1

First Look At The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1

Upon the release of their Dunk Lows in 2020, South Korea’s Kasina — the premier sneaker retailer of the country — caught the eyes of sneakerheads the world over. And for 2022, they’re reprising their collaborative relationship with Nike, this time turning their attention to the equally beloved Air Max 1.

Earlier this past April, Kasina shared a quick teaser, which confirmed the above-mentioned silhouette and hinted at a global release. Just a couple weeks thereafter and seeding has already commenced, with long-time friend KB Lee (AKA fakesickness) sharing a detailed first look at the shoe.

As we’re still awaiting official correspondence from the Swoosh and the boutique, not much is currently known about the colorway’s design. But if we go off the attached hangtag, it’s likely the make-up draws inspiration from the Mandarin Duck, which — due to their habit of mating for life — serves as the model for the wooden ducks that are often given as marriage gifts in Korea. And besides the aforementioned accessory, even the palette itself is reminiscent of the colorful creature, employing the latter’s rich warm and cool tones.

For an early look at the upcoming Kasina x Nike Air Max 1, see below. Currently, no release date has been announced, but more information should surface within the next few weeks.

Updated May 23rd, 2022: The Kasina x Air Max 1 releases exclusively at Kasina on June 4th and on SNKRS Korea on June 8th.
