Imran Potato is well-known for his subversive, often humorous creations, from his foot-shaped slip-ons to his parodical series of bootleg gear. And soon, the New Jersey born designer will be channeling his creativity into a six-piece collection with Vault By Vans, which puts a spotlight on not only a newly-reissued model but also renewable, recycled materials.

To welcome Imran Potato into the family, the team at Vans opened the vault to the young creative. And for their first collection together, the two are bringing back a rarely-seen, ’90s skate-inspired classic: the KNU SKOOL. The design is extremely distinct from its original appearance in 1998, as the silhouette has been updated with an all-over suede upper, 3D Jazz stripe, overstuffed tongue, thick cotton laces, and a custom Potato-printed waffle sole.

A series of SK8-His join the collection, all of whose sides are covered with a primitively drawn human hand. This print grips the side panels as it does the tongue, boldly and conceptually evolving the concept of Imran Potato’s viral Caveman Slippers.

Both the KNU SKOOL and SK8-Hi will be releasing in three colorways: the low-top will come in a classic black and two cheetah print make-ups, while the high-top opts for a trio of classic options. All six shoes will be available first on ImranPotato.com beginning May 18th; a wider launch will follow on May 21st via Vans.com/vault and select retailers.
