Iron Grey-Colored Suede Appears On The New Balance 2002R

Iron Grey-Colored Suede Appears On The New Balance 2002R

The New Balance 2002R might’ve never happened. As a modified take on an ultra-premium lifestyle sneaker first released in 2010, the pair was once too expensive for the century-old company to justify producing. Strategic partnerships and compelling colorways, however, have helped make the sneaker a hot commodity.

Away from any collaborative input from the likes of thisisneverthat, the upcoming sneaker indulges in standard premium pig suede and breathable, performance-informed mesh. The upper is dipped in an iron grey-reminiscent grey that works in-tandem with the slightly-yellowed midsole for a one-two punch of of “aged” subtlety. New Balance branding and other logo-stamped components deviate from their dark surroundings in a reflective silver hue that nods to the brand’s performance-running heritage.

Enjoy product shots of the pair ahead, courtesy of Up There Store, and anticipate a stateside NewBalance.com release date soon.

For more from the Boston-based brand, check out the New Balance 990v6, which is set to debut before 2022 ends.
