Following the Astroworld tragedy, it was difficult to imagine Travis Scott returning to the limelight. And we were all fully anticipating the artist’s on-going collaboration with Nike and Jordan Brand to disappear along with his fame, putting an end to one of sneaker culture’s most beloved partnerships. But as revealed this month, the Swoosh has no plans of abandoning their beloved collaborator, as they’ve begun the release of both his Air Trainer 1 and Air Max 1.
Alongside the “Wheat” colorway, the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 will also appear in “Saturn Gold,” whose appearance — despite its namesake — is far more rugged than luxe. Every instance of the titular hue, from the midsole to the upper, lacks a metallic sheen, opting to dress the subtly two-toned bottom and matte, nubuck paneling. Additionally, the pantone highlights the backwards, beaded Swoosh, which sits in between the patterned webbing that’s ostensibly borrowed from outdoors gear. As for branding, the shoe places the Cactus Jack logo on its insole, a corresponding emblem on the tongue, and a Nike-marked, flag-styled patch on the heel.

In other news, the entire Balenciaga adidas Collection is available for pre-order and purchase.
