Jovani Hernandez Although countless sneaker collectors are eagerly waiting for the return of the Nike Air Max 97 in original styles, Christian Tresser’s iconic design recently appeared in a playful “The Mighty Swooshers” theme.
Akin to other Nike Sportswear offerings, the upcoming shoes indulge in comic book-inspired detailing across their upper and sole unit, with the former area reveling in multiple dots of different colors. A callout to the fictional superhero squad appears on the sock-liners, while pull tabs at the top of the tongue and spine use comic book style text to reimagine Air Max-branding, for example. Full-length visible Air units underfoot opt for a contrasting yellow hue that further contributes to the AM 97’s refreshing ensemble.
