Jovani Hernandez As summer inches closer, NIKE, Inc. has unveiled a number of footwear and apparel products across its family of brands. Jordan Brand recently shared an official look at the Jordan Sophia, a new slide model exclusive to women.
Competitors branded with 3-Stripes and crocodile-related messaging have enjoyed unprecedented success within the slip-on footwear space over the last several months, which may have encouraged the folks at Michael Jordan’s eponymous imprint to come up with new slides. The Jordan Sophia – which may be named after an important woman in #23’s life – takes a luxurious approach to comfort, with enclosed Air units, padded, criss-cross straps and footbeds with raised edges working in-tandem to deliver a soft and responsive ride. The Air Jordan line’s basketball-obsessed heritage informs the tread underfoot, as herringbone-patterned traction appears all-throughout the outsole. Together, each aforementioned component abandons the aesthetic associated with most “run-of-the-mill” slides in favor of something elevated and fashion-friendly.
