Over the last 40 years, the Nike Air Force 1 model has undergone several experimental changes. In the last year, Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design has indulged in Nike React foam to offer a different cushioning solution to casual and savvy consumers alike.
Although the latest pair of the Air Force 1 React features a tried-and-proven mix of materials and layout, its sole unit and rear half of the upper deliver a take that deviates from Kilgore’s original blueprint. Semi-transparent nylon makes up most of the sneaker’s top-half, revealing a vibrant mix of green and blue to compliment the off-white and black tones that make up much of the forefoot and supporting accents across the profile and tongue. Pull tabs at the heel also offer non-standard functionality to the classic design, though the enclosed React cushioning solution somewhat visible underfoot provides the most notable update from the 40-year-old silhouette.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
