Donald Glover Helps Present The New Balance RC30

Over the course of the last few years, New Balance has rapidly expanded their extended family, adding to the roster celebrities like Jack Harlow, IU, and NBA athlete Kawhi Leonard. And to help debut their newest pride and joy, the RC30, the brand has teamed up with yet another big name: Donald Glover.

“With celebrity-endorsed sneakers coming out every weekend, we thought Donald was a good collaborator for New Balance to take a more considered approach,” says Joe Grondin, Business Unit Manager – Global Collaborations & Energy Projects at New Balance. “No loud colors or branding, just classic, easy-to-wear colorways of a new silhouette that fit Donald’s style.”

Not unlike the XC-72 and 327 in ethos, the RC30 effectively reimagines the sleek, performance style of vintage running shoes. The silhouette even borrows elements from the New Balance Trackster, adding a subtle yet dynamic curve to the vintage classic’s signature ripple sole. Above, suede and nylon construct a near perfect match for said bottom, as the upper is similarly contemporary without compromising the design’s retro charm.

Presented by Donald Glover, the RC30 is set to arrive in two colorways: “Golden Hour” and “Sea Salt.” At a retail of $120 USD, the shoes will first be made available through marketbygilga.com on July 8th; a global launch through newbalance.com and select retailers will follow on July 18th.
