Sneaker News While J Balvin has been busy teasing his upcoming Air Jordan 2 in regular intervals on his social media, we’re stepping it up a notch with a first look at official images of this upcoming collaboration.
The Colombian superstar, known as the Prince Of Reggaeton, brings an airy aesthetic to his design, applying a soft blue shade across the upper with a cloudy landscape covering the heel-guard and the interior lining of the shoes. Padded nylon uppers with orange contrast stitching cover the ankle and the quarter, while a smooth suede finishes off the fore-foot and main mudguard.
Stamping these an official J Balvin collaboration is the custom insole logos, the electric smiley face on the heel, and — the most daring detail of all — the light-up Wings logo at the tongue.
The Air Jordan 2 continues to be the shoe of the moment for Jordan Brand on the collaboration front. In addition to J Balvin’s project, Jordan has worked with Nina Chanel Abney and Maison Château Rouge on earlier releases, while partnerships with regional boutiques such as South Africa’s Shelflife and Detroit’s Two 18 waiting in the wings.
