Although the Nike Air Max Plus debuted in 1998, the silhouette boasts a smaller roster of colorways in comparison to other sneaker silhouettes that released around the same time.
Over the last several years, the Swoosh has re-energized Sean McDowell’s once-Foot-Locker-exclusive design, outfitting it in bold gradients, tonal arrangements and laden with patterns and graphics inspired by everything from the outdoors to Nike’s history. Recently, the Tuned Air-cushioned sneaker emerged in a purple and pink mix worthy of a “Dusk” moniker. Similar to the original “Sunrise” look, the latest take on the Air Max offering features a dark-to-light gradient across the mesh base, while palm tree-inspired TPU overlays running along the profiles opt for stark black contrast. Underfoot, much of the story mimics that found on the upper, with Air units at the heel and forefoot reveling in vibrant pink flair reminiscent of the sky when the sky is setting.
