Thanks to the success of the Yue Wu-led “Refined Future” series, the New Balance 2002R has gone from failed experiment to one of the company’s most exciting silhouettes of recent memory.

As the height of summer inches closer, the Boston-based company continues to revisit the lifestyle-focused proposition via both solo and collaborative work. Recently, the former category has grown by one, as the performance running-informed model has emerged covered in “Sport Royal”-colored premium pig suede and breathable mesh. Supporting components indulge in a New Balance heritage-evoking grey, with cushioning from the 860v2 following suit. And off-white hue rounds out the NERGY sole unit, further allowing the titular blue tone to revel in the spotlight.
