Even before they joined forces with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Nike was heavily inspired by the concept of luxury. And prior to hanging jewels and silver accessories over their classics, the brand would often construct their releases out of high quality, vegetable-tanned leathers, a material that’s about to resurface by way of the upcoming Dunk High LXX.
In the past, Vachetta Tan would rarely be accompanied by louder hue, and that continues to be the case here. The natural shade is only brushed across the Dunk High’s base, adding a premium effect to the underlying paneling as well as the adjacent tongue. Over top, the overlays are predominantly clad in black, which is carried over to the laces, lining, and outsole. The Swoosh, in contrast, opts for a brown darker than the aforementioned tan, matching the finish of the branding elsewhere.
