The Three Stripes has garnered quite a bit of scrutiny with their latest silhouette, the adiFOM Q, which was discounted as an imitation of a much-beloved adidas Yeezy design. But regardless of where you stand on the topic, the shoe undoubtedly bears a history of its own, as it draws inspiration from the adidas Quake that originally debuted in 2001.
If you were to put the adiFOM Q and the Yeezy Foam Runner side-by-side, the differences should be more than clear. Though both are predominantly constructed with foam, adidas’ champion is much less like a clog, as it features an internal lining that is intended to be worn in conjunction with the chiseled, molded exoskeleton. For its first retail appearance, the shoe is dressed in light neutrals. The exterior is painted a light cream, the inner bootie a slightly darker shade, and the branding a much more vibrant orange.
Following an official reveal late last June, the adiFOM Q is finally set to hit retailers — such as Champs Sports, who provided the imagery below — tomorrow, September 2nd. A global release is slated to follow on September 15th.
