After The Swooshes “Color of the Month” series returned the Air Force 1 to its original 1984 construction featuring buttery tumbled leathers and a more streamlined, thinner forefoot construction, the brand’s sportswear division is continuing to retool the leather textiles employed across its hallmark silhouette. Expanding on the meme’d folklore surrounding its black-on-black build, the 40th anniversary silhouette is introducing a new collection for the model to experiment with.
Titled “Fresh” for its reconstructed, textured leather that proffers a softer feel while concealing any creasing, the entirety of the model from its laces to tread render a clad jet-black proposition. Continuing to outfit leather through its sock liner and Fresh-branded insoles, the aforementioned aspects bear a glut of perforations with the once stitched tongue and heel tabs now indulge in debossed brandings. Further flaunting its premium construction, a lasting impression is embroidered onto the tongues interior reading, “EASY TO CLEAN BREATHABLE SOFT LEATHER” in conclusion.
Set to release on November 4th for a retail price of $140, in the meantime enjoy official images of the “Fresh Triple-Black” Air Force 1 Low below.
